چکیده

The possibility of the existence of single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) in organic solvents in the form of clusters is discussed. A theory is developed based on a bundlet model for clusters describing the distribution function of clusters by size. The phenomena have a unified explanation in the framework of the bundlet model of a cluster, in accordance with which the free energy of an SWNT involved in a cluster is combined from two components: a volume one, proportional to the number of molecules n in a cluster, and a surface one, proportional to n. During the latter stage of the fusion process, the dynamics were governed mainly by the displacement of the volume of liquid around the fusion site between the fused clusters. The same order of magnitude for the average cluster-fusion velocity is deduced if the fusion process starts with several fusion sites. Based on a simple kinetic model and starting from the initial state of pure monomers, micellization of rod-like aggregates at high critical micelle concentration occurs in three separated stages. A convenient relation is obtained for at transient stage. At equilibrium, another relation determines dimensionless binding energy a. A relation with surface dilatational viscosity is obtained.

The Effects of Carbon Nanotube Orientation and Aggregation on Static Behavior of Functionally Graded Nanocomposite Cylinders

In this paper, the effects of carbon nanotube (CNT) orientation and aggregation on the static behavior of functionally graded nanocomposite cylinders reinforced by CNTs are investigated based on a mesh-free method. The used nanocomposites are made of the straight CNTs that are embedded in an isotropic polymer as matrix. The straight CNTs are oriented, randomly or aligned or local aggregated int...

Stochastic Coagulation-fragmentation Processes with a Finite Number of Particles and Applications

Coagulation-fragmentation processes describe the stochastic association and dissociation of particles in clusters. Cluster dynamics with cluster-cluster interactions for a finite number of particles has recently attracted attention especially in stochastic analysis and statistical physics of cellular biology, as novel experimental data are now available, but their interpretation remains challen...

A Semi-analytical Solution for 3-D Dynamic Analysis of Thick Continuously Graded Carbon Nanotube-reinforced Annular Plates Resting on a Two-parameter Elastic Foundation

The The main objective of this research paper is to present 3-D elasticity solution for free vibration analysis of elastically supported continuously graded carbon nanotube-reinforced (CGCNTR) annular plates. The volume fractions of oriented, straight single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) are assumed to be graded in the thickness direction. An equivalent continuum model based on the Eshelby-M...

Nonlinear Vibration Analysis of the Fluid-Filled Single Walled Carbon Nanotube with the Shell Model Based on the Nonlocal Elacticity Theory

Nonlinear vibration of a fluid-filled single walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) with simply supported ends is investigated in this paper based on Von-Karman’s geometric nonlinearity and the simplified Donnell’s shell theory. The effects of the small scales are considered by using the nonlocal theory and the Galerkin's procedure is used to discretize partial differential equations of the governing i...
